Sawyer Fredericks to Perform @ #518Gives Telethon

Hometown hero Sawyer Fredericks will perform live during the #518Gives Telethon to benefit the Center for Disability Services on Sunday, January 29. Fredericks is scheduled to appear at 5 p.m. The fundraising broadcast airs from noon to 7 p.m. from the Radisson Hotel Albany, 205 Wolf Road in Colonie. The all live, all local show airs on WXXA/FOX23 (cable channel 8 or check listings). All proceeds support the Center and its divisions, Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center, Life Quality Solutions Incubator, Prospect Center in Queensbury and St. Margaret’s Center in Albany.

Fredericks, a 17 year old singer-songwriter who hails from his family’s farm in the town of Glen, in central New York, is fast establishing himself as an authentic original, Americana artist with an old soul. His deep, beyond-his-years lyrics and melodies, raw, soulful vocals, and powerful live performances have attracted an ever growing number of devoted fans of all ages, selling out shows throughout the United States.

Fredericks began refining his performing skills at the age of 12, playing at area farmer’s markets, open mic shows and charitable events. He was the winner of the eighth season of “The Voice”. Fredericks released his album, “A Good Storm,” in May 2016, and has been touring in support of it.

The Center, known as the place where people get better at life, is celebrating 75 years of service to the community in 2017. By providing innovative programs and vital services, it offers hope, innovation and opportunities for achievement to people with disabilities and their families.
