Singer/songwriter Sawyer Fredericks will perform live during the #518Gives televised fundraiser to benefit the Center for Disability Services on Sunday, January 28. Fredericks is scheduled to appear at 5:40 p.m. and 6 p.m. The broadcast airs from noon to 7 p.m. from the Radisson Hotel Albany, 205 Wolf Road in Colonie. The all live, all local show airs on WXXA/FOX23 (cable channel 8 or check listings). All proceeds support the Center and its divisions, Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center, Life Quality Solutions Incubator, Prospect Center in Queensbury and St. Margaret’s Center in Albany.

In 2017, Fredericks made his first appearance on the #518Gives benefit and his performance of “How Beautiful” was well received by the in-house audience and viewers. An 18 year old musician from Glen, in central New York, Fredericks is currently promoting his third full length album, “Hide Your Ghost,” through an online Pledge Music Campaign and is touring in support of it. In December, he played Daryl’s House Club in Pawling.

Fredericks began performing publicly at the age of 12, playing area farmer’s markets, open mic shows and charitable events. He was the winner of the eighth season of “The Voice.” His originality, meaningful lyrics and soulful vocals have attracted devoted fans of all ages.

The Center, known as the place where people get better at life, is celebrating 76 years of service to the community in 2018. By providing innovative programs and vital services, many of which are not available elsewhere, the Center offers opportunities for achievement, hope and innovation to people with disabilities and their families.
