Sawa Sushi Bistro Opens in Glenmont

The Chamber participated in a ribbon cutting for Sawa Sushi Bistro on Friday, November 19. The Chamber was joined by Ambassadors, staff, family and friends.

This is Owner Briana Lin’s fifth Asian restaurant in the Capital Region, and third in just four years. Take-out food has become a staple during the pandemic, and while Sawa Sushi Bistro offers a fantastic dining experience, take-out options are always available.

“While I’m thrilled to welcome SAWA Sushi Bistro to Albany County, no introductions are needed for Briana Lin, who already owns three other restaurants in the county alone. Over the years Lin has constantly demonstrated her ability to lead and a commitment to providing the highest level of customer and food service, and I want to congratulate her on her most recent success,” said Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy. “Albany County is a diverse melting pot of many ethnicities and nationalities, and it’s great to have top-of-the-line Japanese cuisine which helps to reflect that throughout our community.”

“The grand opening of Sawa Sushi Bistro is yet another example of the Capital Region’s COVID-19 comeback and Briana Lin’s investment in our communities here in Albany County,” said Assemblymember Patricia Fahy. “In the state legislature, I’m committed to supporting our small business owners like Briana and to helping them thrive in a post-pandemic economy. I look forward to seeing the success of Sawa Sushi Bistro in person and encourage everyone to stop by for takeout or a dine-in experience!”

“I am so pleased to welcome Briana Lin and Sawa Sushi Bistro to Glenmont,” said Bethlehem Town Supervisor David VanLuven. “Sawa Sushi will be an exciting addition to Bethlehem’s robust restaurant scene, and yet another draw to Glenmont’s vibrant commercial center.”

“I am so excited to be able to open our fifth restaurant in such a short time,” said Owner Briana Lin, “and even more excited to open our fourth establishment in Albany County. I am so appreciative of the supportive community over the years who believe in our success.”

All ribbon cuttings are sponsored by Saratoga National Bank and Trust Company.
