Saratoga Race Course to Host the Stanley Cup for Fundraising Effort to Benefit the Double H Ranch

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) will welcome one of the most iconic trophies in sports, the Stanley Cup, to Saratoga Race Course for a fundraising effort to benefit the Double H Ranch on Monday, August 10 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Fans can have their photo taken with the National Hockey League (NHL) championship trophy at the Community Outreach Booth, located outside the Jockey Silks Room, with a $10 donation to the Double H Ranch.

This special opportunity was spearheaded by Kevin Dineen, a Warren County resident and assistant coach for the reigning NHL champion Chicago Blackhawks, which took home the Stanley Cup for the second time in three years this past season.

The Double H Ranch is a year-round camp in Lake Luzerne, New York dedicated to providing specialized programs and support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. Its purpose is to enrich their lives and provide camp experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound.

The Community Outreach Booth is designed to provide local non-profit organizations with the chance to generate exposure about their efforts while also providing track visitors with a chance to contribute to meaningful causes.

For each day of the 2015 season, a local not-for-profit organization will have the opportunity to utilize the Community Outreach Booth to interact with the thousands of guests who visit Saratoga Race Course, share information about its mission and host various fundraising initiatives.

The 2015 summer meet at historic Saratoga Race Course continues through Labor Day, Monday, September 7. For more information about Saratoga Race Course, call 518.584.6200 or visit www.nyra.com.
