Saratoga Casino and Raceway Plans Big Travers Day for Guests

Saratoga Casino and Raceway is set to welcome guests for an exciting day during the 146th running of the Travers Stakes on Saturday, August 29. In an effort to accommodate those who were unable to purchase tickets for the sold-out day at Saratoga Race Course, Saratoga Casino and Raceway will offer guests three unique options to enjoy the race and is now the only venue in Saratoga Springs where racing fans can place wagers on Travers Day.

Vapor will be open to the general public beginning at 4pm. Guests will be able to watch and wager on the races and catch the action on their massive 16-foot screen. A variety of drink specials will be available throughout the day. Admission into the viewing party at Vapor is free.

The casino is also opening Fortunes, their trackside restaurant, at noon on Travers Day. A special $32.95 buffet is planned and guests will be able to view all of the races and wager right from their table. Reservations for Fortunes are recommended and can be made by calling 518.581.5790.

Of course, Saratoga Casino and Raceway’s air conditioned simulcasting mezzanine will be open for wagering at 10am and will offer the Saratoga Race Course card in its entirety. Saratoga Casino and Raceway offers over 3,500 parking spots, and as always, parking and admission are free for Travers Day.

“While we’re just as anxious as everyone else in town to hear about American Pharoah, this is certainly shaping up to be one of the most historic days in the history of Saratoga Springs,” said Rita Cox, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. “We’re happy to welcome those who are looking to avoid the heat, crowds and traffic that come along with such a monumental day for our city.”
