September 5, 2017Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady to Kick Off the NFL Season with Giants Legend Rodney Hampton
Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady announced today that Van Slyck’s entertainment lounge off of the Rivers gaming floor will be the Capital Region’s home for NFL action all season long. Rivers will kick of the season in style with an appearance by Super Bowl Champion Rodney Hampton.
This season’s first Sunday of NFL action will be highlighted by a special appearance from Giants legend Rodney Hampton, from noon to 3pm on Sunday, September 10. Hampton, former first round draft pick, pro football player, and Super Bowl XXV champion, will be rubbing elbows with fans and signing autographs while the games play on Van Slyck’s’ 15 televisions.
“We’re proud to welcome football great Rodney Hampton to Rivers Casino & Resort, and to give fans the chance to kick the season off in a truly unique way,” said Rivers Casino & Resort General Manager Mary Cheeks. “Football season is all about excitement, and there’s nowhere in the Capital Region that will be more exciting than Van Slyck’s and Rivers Casino this fall.”
The NFL action starts with the first game of the season and will last through the Super Bowl. Rivers’ Football Kick Off Party will be held Thursday, September 7, at 7:30pm in Van Slyck’s. Football fans will be treated to food and drink specials while they watch the Kansas City Chiefs take on the New England Patriots in the season’s first matchup on Van Slyck’s massive video wall.
All season long, Van Slyck’s will carry every NFL game and offer food and drink specials during tailgate hour through game time. Fans will be treated to $1 hot dogs and $2 domestic draft beers, as well as specials on stadium favorites like sliders, nachos and wings. Tailgate hour begins at noon on Sunday Gameday, and an hour before kick off for Monday Night Football.
