Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Celebrates the Thanksgiving Holiday with Full-Scale Feast and Property-Wide Specials and Promotions

Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate with friends and family and Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady is making that easy, enjoyable and exciting. The Rivers family wants to invite families to start a new Thanksgiving tradition by letting its team take care of the meal, the dishes and the entertainment so guests can focus on enjoying the holiday. Also, since Thanksgiving tends to be a day trip for many people, overnight travelers will find excellent values for their November weekend getaway at The Landing Hotel—the only waterfront hotel in the Capital Region.

Rivers Thanksgiving Feast

The public is invited to enjoy a full, delicious Thanksgiving meal at a great price at Rivers Casino this holiday. This $15.00, three-course dinner – including choice of hand-carved turkey or country-carved ham – will be held from noon to 8:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day in the Rivers Event Center, and will be open to all ages. Reservations are encouraged.

For their first course, guests will have a choice of either Autumn Butternut Bisque Soup (with nutmeg crème fraiche garnish), or Celebration Salad (sweetened dried cranberries, candied walnut pieces, pickled red onions, gorgonzola cheese crumbles, and Mallozzi’s Classic Italian Dressing). Both will be served alongside a cornucopia of assorted dinner breads and rolls.

For their second course, guests will have a choice of Slow Roasted, Fresh Herb Encrusted Hand Carved Turkey (with traditional pan gravy), or Country Carved Ham (with delectable pineapple, honey, molasses glaze). Entrees will be accompanied with buttery yukon gold mashed potatoes, traditional pan, fresh herb cornbread stuffing, butter and garlic green beans, brown sugar candied yams and whole berry cranberry sauce. There will be a vegetarian option: Eggplant Rollatini (lightly battered and pan fried eggplant creamy herbed ricotta cheese, fresh pomodoro sauce, buttery yukon gold mashed potatoes, butter and garlic green beans).

Dessert will be a choice of Freshly Baked, Warm Apple Pie or Traditional Custard Pumpkin Pie with Fresh Cinnamon Whipped Cream.

Other Thanksgiving Food and Beverage Offerings

In addition to the Thanksgiving Feast in the Event Center, Rivers Casino will be offering a Thanksgiving Prix-Fixe Menu in Dukes Chophouse and a special menu item at Johnny’s To Go.

The four-course, gourmet Thanksgiving dining experience at Dukes will be served from 3:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, for $60 per guest. Reservations are recommended.

This specially designed, four-course meal starts with Autumn Pear Chowder (with maple sausage, smoke bacon, fresh pears and fall spices), which took home first prize in the recent Troy Chowderfest. Soup is followed by a choice of appetizer: Harvest Kale Chop Salad (with shaved brussels sprouts, red wine poached apple, dried apricots, crumbled goat cheese and cinnamon cherry vinaigrette) or Brown Butter Gnocchi (with prosciutto, duck confit, asiago and parmesan cheese).

Guests will have four dishes to choose from for their entrée: a Cider Brined Fennel Encrusted Turkey (with sausage cranberry stuffing and rosemary pan gravy), Chateaubriand (beef tenderloin, wild mushroom truffle duxelle & port wine demi glace) or Shrimp & Lobster (with lobster cornbread stuffed shrimp and jalapeno lime veloute). All will be served with Yukon whipped potatoes and thyme scented baby carrots. A fourth entrée, Butternut Squash Risotto, is served with roasted beets, asparagus, manchego cheese and crispy shallots.

For dessert, guests have a choice of Warm Apple Pecan Tart (with vanilla bean gelato and fresh whipped cream) or Pumpkin Cheesecake (with sweet and spicy mascarpone and salted caramel).

For those who miss Thanksgiving Day at Rivers Casino & Resort, the best food of the season will be available at Johnny’s To Go all through the holidays.

The Johnny’s Gobbler Sandwich features hand carved turkey breast, cranberry-mayo, stuffing, arugula and cranberry sauce, all served on a ciabatta sub, and will be available for $9.99 at Johnny’s To Go during normal operating hours from November 1 to January 2.
