Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady is celebrating everything October has to offer with an Oktoberfest celebration with Sam Adams brewery, $20,000 worth of giveaways during Columbus Day weekend and a Halloween bash to end the month.
Guests can celebrate Oktoberfest at Rivers on Friday, October 6, with Sam Adams, food specials and music by the Bavarian Brothers. The event will be highlighted by a stein hoisting competition for a trip for two to the Sam Adams brewery, a pair of tickets to a Boston Bruin hockey game, a Sam Adams cooler and a brew kit. Oktoberfest will take place from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., on the patio
Rivers Casino will be giving away $20,000 in cash and free play over Columbus Day Weekend. On Sunday, October 8, every hour from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. four guests will win $250 in Free Slot Play. At 8pm three winners will win $500 cash and at 9:00 p.m. one winner will win $2,500 in cash. On Monday, October 9, every hour from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. four winners will win $300 in Free Slot Play, and at 6:00 p.m. three winners will win $500 cash and one winner will win $2,500 cash.
Rivers will end the month on a high note with a Halloween Party in Van Slyck’s on Saturday, October 28. Details on drink and food specials, entertainment and costume contests to come.

Gaming Promotions and Giveaways
October Slots Point Race – Win a 2017 Nissan Versa – The Rush Rewards member who earns the most tier points playing Slots or Video Poker during the month of October will drive home in a brand-new Nissan Versa! One tier point is earned for every $5 in slot wagers and every $10 in Video Poker wagers.
Rake in $25,000 – From Sunday, October 1 through Saturday, October 21 guests will earn one entry for every 10 points earned. From 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on October 21, five winners will win $500 and at 10:00 p.m. one lucky winner will walk away with $10,000 cash.
Jackpot Winner Drawings – From October 1 through October 26, guests who hit the Jackpot playing slots or video poker will earn an entry into a drawing drum for a chance to win up to $5,000. On Saturday, October 28, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., four winners each hour will be randomly selected to win $250 in free slot play – if they are present their earnings will double. At 8:00 p.m., two winners will randomly be selected to have their highest jackpot up to $5,000 matched.
Grand Slam Drawings – On Friday, October 20 and Friday, October 27, during every hour from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. three winners will be chosen to team up for baseball! Each team member will choose a baseball from a tub of popcorn. The baseballs have baseball terms on them and team members will continue choosing until they receive three outs. Teams will split their prizes.
Break the Bank Hot Seats – On Saturday October 7 and Saturday, October 14, during every hour from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. two Rush Rewards guests will win either $250 in free slot play or a chance to break a piggy bank for a chance to win up to $1,000 cash.
Friday the 13th – Every hour from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. two Rush Rewards guests will be randomly selected to spin a prize wheel for a chance to win up to $250 in free slot play or $500 cash.
Halloween Hot Seats – There’s nothing spooky about being surprised with free slot play! On October 31, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., four winners will be picked every hour to select a pumpkin and reveal between $100 and $500 in free slot play. Winners will have five minutes to claim their prize.
Sherpa Blanket Giveaway – Embrace the arrival of cooler days with this giveaway. On Friday, October 6, all Rush Rewards member who earn at least 300 points playing slots or video poker between 6:00 a.m. and 7:59 p.m. will be eligible to receive a blanket or $15 in free slot play. Gift pick up is from noon to 8:00 p.m. at the Rush Rewards Center. While supplies last.

Weekend Brunch at Dukes Chophouse – Dukes Chophouse will be serving brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Guests will be treated to decadent and indulgent menu items, as well as a fully-loaded Bloody Mary bar. Fall Festival Buffet – On Tuesday, October 10 from 4:00 pm. to 9:00 p.m., a Fall Festival buffet will be open to the public for $19.99, or $16.99 for those 55 and older.
Events & Entertainment
Sunday and Monday Night Football – Guests can enjoy football on Sundays and Mondays in October at Van Slyck’s. Football specials will begin one hour before kick-off and will include $1 hot dogs, $2 domestic pints, $3 select imports and $2 mimosas.
Almost Queen – It’s the most authentic QUEEN live show since the days of QUEEN themselves. A deliberate four piece band, Almost Queen delivers a live performance showcasing signature four part harmonies and intricate musical interludes. Donning genuine costumes, Almost Queen recaptures the live energy and precision that is the penultimate Queen experience. Almost Queen will take over the Event Center from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Rock On, Rivers! With Rock-aoke – Channel your inner rock star on Thursdays with Rock-aoke at Van Slyck’s entertainment lounge. This live band karaoke event features live music from The High Rollers, with Rivers guests on the vocals. Every Thursday, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
$1,000 All-In Trivia – It takes two brains to win the games. Trivia in Van Slyck’s entertainment lounge is on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
There is no cost to join Rush Rewards, and members earn points for their slot play and table game play by inserting their card into the slot machine or presenting it to table games dealers before starting the game. The more points earned, the more reward benefits members will receive.
