Rider Knocks Off Men’s Tennis 6-1

Alessandro Saglia posted a strong 6-0 and 6-4 win at No. 3 singles, but Rider prevailed with a 6-1 MAAC men’s tennis win over Siena Saturday in Watervliet.

The Broncs began the match by edging the Saints 2-1 in the doubles competition. The point was decided at No. 2 doubles where Brandon Gildea and Jeremy Van Herwarde held off Saglia and Diego Lebron 7-5.

Jace Koretz nearly earned his first collegiate win for the Saints at No. 4 singles, falling in three sets 0-6, 6-1 and 6-4 to Gildea.

Siena wraps up its fall season at Sacred Heart next Sunday.
