Remote Volunteer Opportunity for Individuals and Groups

For the past 14 years, Grassroot Givers has hosted their annual community service event, A Day of Simple Giving. Each year, thousands of donors, volunteers, local nonprofits and businesses join together to collect donations and create kits of practical items which are distributed to directly fill needs in our community. At the end of the day, the results have been nothing short of amazing- $30,000 worth of goods are shared with individuals and families right here in the Capital Region.

Last year, their first Day of Simple Giving from Home was a great success. With COVID-19 cases in the region continuing to rise, the organization decided to work together remotely again this year. Participating sponsors, individual volunteers, and community groups are invited to photograph their contributions so Grassroot Givers can include the images in their Virtual Event Video, which will be shared on their social media sites on Saturday, November 20. Please visit grassrootgivers.org/simple-giving to learn about the different volunteer “stations” and sign up to participate.

Since 2009, Grassroot Givers has worked with donors and volunteers throughout the Capital Region to make the connection between the needs in the community and those with resources to share.
