June 21, 2024Record Breaking Number of 2024 Summer Interns At Dannible & Mckee, LLP 16 Colleges Represented
Dannible & McKee, LLP, a certified public accounting and consulting firm, broke its own internship participant record with a total of 27 students interning at the firm this summer.
“Over the years we have had tremendous success with our internship program providing long-term growth opportunities for both our firm and the individuals who participate,” said Kaitlyn Axenfeld, CPA/CFF, CFE, and one of the partners in charge of recruiting. “Our hope and vision in designing our internship program is to provide each of our interns with continued learning opportunities through real world experience and formalized trainings all while they are gaining insight into our firm culture and what it is like to work in public accounting.”
The internship program speaks for itself as 15 of the 27 students are returning from the previous year.
“As our interns are at the beginning of their careers, we want them to know they are valuable members of our team, no matter experience, and hopefully we even have a couple future partners amongst the group,” said Axenfeld.
The students come from 16 colleges throughout Upstate New York, as well as two colleges outside of the state, Purdue University and University of Scranton. Several are from the Central New York area, including six students from Le Moyne College and five from SUNY Oswego.
“It’s exciting to see so many students interested in the accounting field,” said Christopher Didio, CPA, CFE, managing partner at Dannible & McKee. “Our recruiting team has worked diligently by attending career fairs and using social media to reach and attract the students who are with us today.”
The firm offers audit, tax, accounting and various operations internships throughout the year that provide the opportunity to perform meaningful, client-oriented work with a dynamic group of highly skilled professionals. The interns also gain exposure to various industries, client organizations and technical skills to prepare for employment.
