Recent Study Finds Tri-City Area One of America’s Most Educated

To find the most appealing cities for college graduates, WalletHub recently conducted a study that compared the 150 largest U.S. metropolitan statistical areas, or MSAs, across nine key metrics. Their data set ranges from the percentage of adults aged 25 and older with a bachelor’s degree or higher to the attainment gap between women and men.

According to WalletHub’s data, the Tri-City Area (Albany, Schenectady, Troy) ranked 18th among its fellow ranked metropolitan areas across America. The following is The Tri-City Area’s rankings in WalletHub’s specific metrics.

Education of Albany-Schenectady-Troy (1=Best; 75=Avg.)

  • 11th – Percentage of High School Diploma Holders
  • 30th – Percentage of Bachelor’s Degree Holders
  • 37th – Percentage of Adults with Some College Experience or an Associate’s Degree
  • 14th – Percentage of Graduate or Professional Degree Holders
  • 32nd – Average Quality of Universities
  • 24th – Number of Enrolled Students in Top 200 Universities per Capita
