Steve Corletta, a project executive at LeChase Construction Services, LLC, with expertise in hospital and healthcare construction, has moved to the company’s New York Metro office in Armonk, N.Y., where he will manage large or multiple projects for core clients.
His role will include accountability for quality, value and safety, and he will oversee recruitment and training of project team members. He is expected to support major LeChase clients including Westchester Medical Center, White Plains Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Nuvance Health.
“As our clients in healthcare in the New York metro area continue to grow in scope and scale, we will benefit greatly from Steve Corletta’s experience in successfully managing hundreds of millions of dollars in health-related projects,” said LeChase Vice President David Campbell. “Healthcare construction and renovation are highly specialized, and we realize our clients’ top priority – patient care – cannot stop for construction. Steve has the experience and strategic expertise to maintain high-quality construction and safety protocols while ensuring vital hospital operations can continue without disruption.”
With more than 20 years of experience, Corletta has led several major LeChase projects, including a $240 million Ambulatory Orthopedics Center for the University of Rochester Medical Center. The scope involved the construction of a four-story clinical tower and the repurposing of a 170,000-square-foot mall structure, among other components.
Additional accomplishments include:
- The $101.2 million expansion of the University of Rochester Medical Center’s Golisano Children’s Hospital. The project entailed the construction of a nine-story, 245,000-square-foot extension of the hospital with a new pediatric imaging unit, a 60-bed neonatal intensive care unit, 56 general care beds and two floors for a future pediatric intensive care unit and pediatric operating rooms.
- The $40 million Bailey Road Clinical Laboratory, including a 47,000-square-foot addition and the 53,000-square-foot renovation of an existing laboratory facility.
- A $30.5 million expansion of F.F. Thompson Hospital with a 61,000-square-foot, two-story addition encompassing surgical, rehabilitation services and medical laboratory space. The project included the renovation of intensive care unit facilities and improvements to support services such as nutrition and administration.
Before coming to LeChase 12 years ago, Corletta gained eight years of experience in New York City working on projects that included the $550 million, 26-gate Jet Blue Airways Terminal 5 at John F. Kennedy International Airport and the $800 million, 32-story courthouse in Brooklyn that is home to the Kings County Family Court and New York State Supreme Court.
Corletta also has deep knowledge of environmentally responsible building methods. He is an Accredited Professional in U.S. Green Building Council Leadership Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) construction. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Binghamton University.
