April 16, 2025Pines at Glens Falls Center Hosts 5th Annual Food Drive Benefiting Veterans and Community Housing Coalition
Rainy skies couldn’t dampen the spirit of giving at the Pines at Glens Falls Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation this past Friday as they held their 5th Annual Food Drive in support of the Veterans and Community Housing Coalition (VCHC).
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the local community, the event raised over $1,000 and filled an entire van with food and household donations for VCHC’s veterans’ food pantry, which serves homeless and at-risk veterans and their families throughout the region.
“This event continues to grow each year, and we’re so proud to support the veterans in our community,” said Jennifer Haskins, Director of Admissions and Marketing, from the Pines at Glens Falls Center. “Even with the rain, people showed up with donations and open hearts.”
This year’s food drive received contributions from a wide range of community partners, including:
Haun Welding Supply, Arrow Bank, Glens Falls Elks Lodge #81, Ascend Mental Wellness, Queensbury Senior Center, The Conkling Center, The Senior Center of the Kingsbury and Fort Edward Area, Inc., Hannaford, Zonta Club of Glens Falls, and many more.
“We are so grateful to the Pines at Glens Falls and their community partners for this incredible show of support,” said Marian Eck, Director of Community Engagement at VCHC. “Every dollar and every can of food helps us ensure that the veterans we serve don’t have to choose between putting food on the table and keeping a roof over their heads. It’s heartwarming to see a community come together like this for those who’ve served our country.”
All donations go directly to VCHC, a nonprofit based in Ballston Spa that provides housing and supportive services to homeless veterans and their families across seven counties in upstate New York.
