Paul Stamas Named Chief Information Officer at Northern Rivers

Northern Rivers Family of Services announced that Paul Stamas has been appointed as Chief Information Officer. He joined the organization on March 13.

Stamas will provide strategic direction, design, integration, implementation, operations, training, support, and policy development of information services for the $85 million not-for-profit organization, serving 1,400 employees and 14,000 clients throughout a 36-county service area. “Information is the backbone of our care for children, adults and families,” said William T. Gettman, Jr., Northern Rivers CEO. “Paul will lead our efforts to use technology to deliver the services our communities need and deserve.”

Stamas previously served as Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Technology with Mohawk Fine Papers in Cohoes, N.Y., where he managed a portfolio of enterprise IT projects, led the project management office and had his research published in industry publications. He previously held IT leadership positions with Sprint/Nextel, Philips Medical Systems (Intermagnetics) and Albany International Corporation, and was Chief of Computer Systems and Information Systems Security Officer at the Watervliet Arsenal.

He earned his BA from the State University of New York at Buffalo, an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a doctorate and master’s degree in information systems and technology from Syracuse University.
