OrthoNY Expanding Orthopaedic Urgent Care Hours and Locations

Starting Tuesday, July 5, OrthoNY will offer orthopaedic urgent care in Schenectady, and expanded hours at its Albany location. The practice’s Schenectady office, located at 530 Liberty Street, will now provide urgent care with no appointment necessary, Monday-Friday, 1 p.m.-5 p.m. In Albany, patients will be able to walk in as early as 8 a.m. at 121 Everett Road. The new hours there will be 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday-Friday, and Saturday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

OrthoNY has been providing walk-in orthopaedic care in Albany and Malta since April 2013. In June 2014, a designated urgent care suite, staffed by a full-time physician assistant, opened at 121 Everett Road to see patients Monday-Friday, 1 p.m.-8 p.m. Since then, 30-40 patients are seen each weekday in Albany, and 22 on Saturday mornings between Albany and Malta.

OrthoNY Urgent Care is efficient and cost-effective, eliminating the need for emergency room visits to treat common injuries. When acute care needs are bone and joint specific, it is an optimal choice for sprains, strains, minor fractures and sports injuries. OrthoNY Urgent Care is provided by orthopaedic specialists and supported by onsite radiology services.

“Many bone and joint issues are sudden and unexpected,” said Alan Okun, CEO of OrthoNY. “Expanding urgent care hours so these services are more accessible to more patients just makes sense. As they are requesting walk-in services, we are responding.”

“We are happy to offer urgent care to treat injuries as quickly as possible, getting people back to work, school and life. It’s one of the ways we continue Saving Lifestyles.”

In addition to Albany and Schenectady, OrthoNY Urgent Care remains available on Saturday morning, 9 a.m.-12 p.m., in the Malta Medical Arts Building at 2388 Route 9, just south of Route 67, off Exit 12 of the Northway.
