Olivieri Recruiting officially cut the ceremonial ribbon on Wednesday, January 22nd. Gina Olivieri, the founder and owner, was elated by the warm welcome at her current location in the New York Biz Lab, 251 State Street, Schenectady, New York.
Gina Olivieri is an entrepreneur with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the College of Saint Rose and a Master’s Degree in Education from SUNY Albany. Gina started out her career as an Elementary Teacher and unfortunately, was a victim of budget cuts in 2011. She tried her hand at a few different career options but teaching was still her passion. She had her resume on multiple job board sites and was approached by an IT consulting company for a Talent Acquisition Specialist opportunity. Although this was a completely new industry and she knew nothing about it, she took the leap and started recruiting for IT professionals. At about a year and half, she became the top producer and at 3 years, she was recruited out of there and went to another similar company as a Senior Recruiter. Eventually it became apparent that she really wanted to start her own business doing recruiting. In September 2017, she rented a small office space and began hunting for clients on her own. Two and a half years later, she has over 18 active clients and has made 51 placements at a success rate of 98%.
Gina’s business is centered around culture, communication and commitment and she strives to provide top notch talent for her clients while gaining a true understanding of their long-term needs. On the candidate side, Gina aims to improve a person’s situation and life by putting them in a better situation than they are in when she finds them. This is an alternative way of helping people and she is very passionate about it.
While Olivieri Recruiting specializes in IT and Engineering, they also staff many other industries, including medical, healthcare, construction, finance, environmental, marketing/communications, manufacturing, and more.
Gina recently added her first employee due to growth, Fabian Johnston, as Director of Business Development. Fabian comes from a successful sales background and works with Gina out of the Schenectady office. Gina has also added another Business Development Manager, Kristy Shallcross, in Dallas. Kristy is a former college roommate of Gina’s and friend, and works out of the Dallas/Fort Worth location.
Gina’s office was formerly located in downtown Albany. She chose The Bizlab in Schenectady because of its thriving energy and excitement. She loves the community here and plans on growing her company here.
