March 26, 2025NYSERDA Heat Recovery Program Atlas 602 Support
Atlas602 today emphasized its ability to conduct natural gas reduction studies for industrial manufacturers through the recently launched second round of NYSERDA’s Heat Recovery Program, which aims to expand the adoption of heat recovery solutions across New York State’s building sector.
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) launched the Heat Recovery Program to identify and implement waste heat recovery opportunities in commercial, industrial, institutional, and multifamily buildings. The program offers financial support for feasibility studies and capital incentives for projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase energy efficiency.
Round 2 of the program, announced in early 2025, includes updates to eligibility criteria, incentive levels, and streamlined application procedures. Funding is available for:
- Technical studies 75% up to $40,000
- Engineering 75% up to $80,000
- Project Funding 50% up to $2,000,000
Applications for Project Funding are due on June 3rd which requires manufacturers to act fast to take advantage of the main pool of funding. Studies and Engineering will be funded through November while program funds last and without guarantee of future capital funding.
Atlas602 is available to quickly provide technical study support in line with NYSERDA program requirements, including energy modeling, feasibility analysis, and documentation enabling submission for project funding.
“This is a major opportunity for manufacturers to learn what they should do instead of what they could do, and get funding to do it,” said Rick Wenger, Founder and CEO at Atlas602.
Applications for Round 2 are currently open, and Atlas602 is looking for 1 or 2 more facilities interested in reducing their natural gas consumption.
