NY Special Needs & Disabilities Expo Ribbon Cutting

The Chamber was thrilled to join Jennifer F. Hendricks-Fogg and Mariah Fortune at the inaugural NY Special Needs & Disabilities Expo!  The Capital Region Chamber’s Senior VP, Community Advancement, Pete Bardunias, was joined by State Senator Jake Ashby, Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara and Colonie, New York Deputy Supervisor Rick Field to help Jennifer and Mariah cut the ceremonial ribbon to officially commemorate the event. Also present was Spectrum News meteorologist Heather Morrison who moderated a panel discussion featuring the Assemblyman and others on various topics impacting the special needs community.  Senator Ashby and Assemblyman Santabarbara were complimentary of each other as they have worked together regarding disability-related issues.

 

The Special Needs expo provided resources for all ages and disabilities, helping tool connect people with vital support systems, useful products, and agencies that can assist with accommodations for their needs. There were also seminars focusing on various topics important to individuals with special needs or those caring for them. The Expo was sponsored by Albany Med Health System, Living Resources New York and CDPHP.
