January 21, 2016“Nutcrackers” Artist’s Reception
Stockade Station and Higgins, Robers & Suprunowicz, PC are proud to bring you an Artist’s Reception for local artist Marion C. Leap on Tuesday, February 9 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Higgins, Roberts & Suprunowicz, PC, located at 1430 Balltown Road in Niskayuna. The show will be on display through February 29. Marion C. Leap grew up in this area and attended Niskayuna High School. At the College of Saint Rose, she earned a B.S and M.S. in Art Education and graduated with concentrations in painting, silkscreen and drawing. For 34 years, she taught K-6 art, first in the Coxsackie-Athens School District and the last 25 years in the City School District of Albany. In 2013, she retired from teaching and concentrated more on her own art. Her primary medium is watercolor gouache and she draws inspiration from nature and everyday objects that she depicts in a style that is all her own. She lives in Niskayuna.
Stockade Station is a collaboration of diverse local artists and supporters of the arts. It is currently an all-volunteer organization with 501 (c) 3 non-profit status. The event at Higgins, Roberts & Surpunowicz, PC is due in large part to Larry DeAngelus, Estate Planning attorney at the firm in appreciation of and support for local artists and the arts.
