Noteworthy Resources is committed to offering inclusive and empowering programs and activities that support the educational, holistic, and recreational needs of the local community with skating, resources for success and personal growth. The ongoing goal is to bring people of all ages together to better support their needs and create a strong sense of belonging in the community.

“It is an honor to spearhead an empowering and supportive nonprofit organization for the community,” said Tatiana Gjergji, executive director and founder of Noteworthy Resources of Albany. “I am thrilled to open our new community center and indoor skatepark at 930 On Broadway so we can continue to implement mental, emotional, and social support and resources through our programs and services to all.”

Redburn’s latest project located at 930 On Broadway will have 83 apartments with modern finishes and historic details, some featuring large factory windows. The apartment building will also include a gym, game room, dog wash and rooftop deck.

Noteworthy Resources will have an office space for workshops, a loading dock area fitted for live music and arts shows, and the rest of the space will feature a skate bowl and ramps. The indoor skatepark will be a critical piece in helping support the organization’s Skate Albany program. This program has reached thousands of individuals through skateboarding camps, monthly meet ups and private lessons.

“There are so many integral pieces to the redevelopment of the Warehouse district, and one of those pieces is the use of space that engages people in a way that’s never been done before,” said Jeff Buell, principal of Redburn Development Partners. “That’s what we’re doing here at 930 Broadway. We are providing modern, affordable housing, but we are also providing a space for Noteworthy Resources to engage and support the community.”

Assemblymember Patricia Fahy has secured $125,000 in state grant funding for the project. In addition to grant funding, the organization relies heavily on donations and sponsorships for financial support. Funds raised during their upcoming event, Adopt A Ramp Skate Soiree that will take place on Saturday, Aug. 20 will go toward the new community center and indoor skatepark. The event will include music, local food, live art exhibit, live auction and more. Noteworthy Resources is hopeful they will be able to open the community center in mid-October pending funding.

“We not only need to create the space for people to live in the city of Albany, but also create opportunities for those that live here as well. This project is just another example of Redburn finding that balance,” said Albany Mayor Kathy M. Sheehan. “This is a unique and exciting opportunity for the community to help invest in, because that’s what makes it sustainable, the community. We look forward to seeing Noteworthy Resources utilize this space and continue to provide our community members with additional support and opportunities.”
