July 8, 2020Northern Rivers Welcomes Paula Stopera to Board of Directors
Northern Rivers Family of Services welcomed Paula Stopera to its board of directors at a recent meeting.
Stopera retired last year after nearly 40 years with CAP COM Federal Credit Union, the final 15 as president and chief executive officer. She established the CAP COM Cares Foundation, which has donated more than $4 million to local charitable causes since 2003, and oversaw a period of success at CAP COM that saw the credit union grow from one branch and 9 employees to 11 branches and nearly 400 employees.
She entered the banking field as a part-timer while attending Hudson Valley Community College, worked at Pioneer Bank full time while attending Russell Sage College at night, and joined CAP COM (then known as the Capital District Telephone Employees Credit Union) in 1980.
