Northern Rivers receives two $5,000 grants for crisis services, foster care camp

Northern Rivers Family of Services has been awarded a $5,000 grant for its Child and Adolescent Mobile Crisis Response team and a $5,000 grant for its Camp to Belong program.

The Review Foundation award of $5,000 will help support a case management position for the mobile team, a rapid-response community mental health program designed to safely divert children from emergency room visits and hospitalizations. Case managers facilitate communication between families and community providers to ensure long-term support and stability.

The Charles R. Wood Foundation award of $5,000 will be used to purchase equipment and supplies for Camp to Belong New York. Each summer the program reunites siblings separated by the foster care system for a week of bonding and fun at Camp Chingachgook in Lake George. The camp experience is provided free to all guests.

“These awards will make a real difference in the lives of our kids. We thank the Review Foundation and the Wood Foundation for supporting our life changing care,” said William T. Gettman, CEO of Northern Rivers.
