Northern Rivers Names New Training Team Members

Lauren Ford

Northern Rivers Family of Services announced the hiring of three new training professionals for the organization’s Sidney Albert Training and Research Institute (SATRI). Lauren Ford, LMSW, has been named training manager; Leigh Van Swall has been named senior trainer, and Timothy Gallop has been named trainer.

Ford is responsible for the review and management of training contracts, curriculum development, and coordination of organizational participation in statewide assessments. She previously served as a training specialist for the NYS Community Action Association; a senior trainer for the Professional Development Program at Rockefeller College; and a LGBTQ Health Specialist with the Pride Center of the Capital Region. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare and her Master of Social Work from the University at Albany.

Lisa Van Swall

Lisa Van Swall

Van Swall provides a variety of trainings to internal and external human services professionals throughout the state. She previously worked in foster care services with Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth and as a teacher and facilitator in public and private schools. She earned her bachelor’s degree in East Asian Studies from the College of William and Mary and her Master of Education from the University of Virginia.

Gallop provides internal and external trainings to human services professionals throughout the state. He previously served Northern Rivers member agency Parsons Child & Family Center as a senior residential counselor and a waiver service provider for community-based youth. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University at Binghamton.
