August 4, 2020Northern Rivers Hosts Virtual BABY SHOWER and a Paint and Zoom Event
You’re cordially invited…to make a difference in the lives of some very special infants and toddlers! The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all, but the more than 120 children, 110 families, and 5 expecting mothers served by our Early Head Start program, all of whom struggle with poverty, were hit especially hard. That’s why we’re hosting a virtual baby shower all month, and we need your help.
We successfully transitioned to remote programming and video-supported distance learning back in March and developed comprehensive new safety procedures to coordinate drop-offs of the essential supplies we provide for these families in need. And while we’ve been able to stay connected and keep supporting our families, their health and financial concerns have only grown due to this unprecedented societal challenge.
Strollers, car seats, bedding, diapers, and clothing—there is an endless list of things infants and toddlers need. By donating items from our Amazon wish list any time between August 1 and 31, you’ll help ensure that these families can keep their children safe and secure.
Simply visit our wish list, select and purchase the items you want to donate and they’ll be delivered directly to us. Or if you’re out shopping, simply purchase items from the list at any store and drop them off at our 60 Academy Road office in Albany or our 125 Bigelow Avenue location in Schenectady weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Even in these most challenging times, a new baby is a cause for celebration. With your help, our Early Head Start families will be able to focus on that joy.
