Northeastern Insurance Completes 3rd Annual Volunteer Week to Raise Awareness and Encourage Participation Throughout the Capital Region

Northeastern Insurance is thrilled to announce that for the third year in a row, we successfully hosted our 3rd Annual Volunteer Week! We started this company initiative back in 2023 and have kept the tradition going every year since. Every day for a full week during the year, the agency will dedicate the whole week to volunteering their services at different local charities and give back to the Capital Region. This year our Volunteer Week was held July 21 – July 25 and we assisted 5 different charities for a variety of causes. All 35 employees in the company dedicated their time throughout the week.

For our 3rd Annual Volunteer Week- the chosen charities included the Mohawk Humane Society, Ronald McDonald House, Veterans Miracle Center, Salvation Army of Albany, and the Regional Food Bank. With 100% employee participation- the goal is to contribute to a variety of causes that organizations are supporting in our community. From services for veterans, families of sick children, animals in need, to food pantries and more. Contributions from the Northeastern Insurance employees included everything from sorting donated goods to pack for distribution, to cooking and hand delivering meals throughout the community for 30+ families.

“Volunteer Week has become one of the most meaningful traditions we’ve built at Northeastern Insurance,” said President and CEO Michael Venezio. “Watching every single one of our employees come together to serve incredible organizations year after year is inspiring. It’s not just about giving back, it’s about being present, showing up for our neighbors, and making a tangible impact right here in the Capital Region. I couldn’t be prouder of our team’s dedication.”

Tasks Completed: Mohawk Humane Society– Empties for Animals Program, sorted through thousands of bottles and cans and loaded onto truck to be returned for donation money for the animals. Ronald McDonald House– cooked dinner/dessert for 25-30 families staying at the home free of charge. Meal included a build your own taco bar with chicken/beef, beans, rice, plus cupcakes and brownies for dessert. Veterans Miracle Center– sorted through hundreds of donated items from Amazon such as beauty products, clothes, household items, etc. and packed boxes for distribution to Veterans in need. Salvation Army– Prepped chicken salad wraps, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, fruit salad, and corn salad. Team members loaded everything onto their Mobile Food Canteen Truck to be delivered to various spots in the community for people of all ages. Regional Food Bank- sorted thousands of donated food items and packed boxes for distribution to other charitable agencies in the Northeast.

Northeastern Insurance has been heavily involved with the local community in past years as well- most recently organizing a $10,000 donation to the Salvation Army of Albany this past Fall through the Liberty Mutual/Safeco Insurance 2024 Make More Happen™ Awards. “Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards is all about,” said Safeco Insurance Territory Manager. “Northeastern Insurance is a shining example of the amazing work independent agents do in the New York area and we hope sharing inspiring stories motivates others to do the same.”

Our goal with this initiative is to raise awareness throughout the community about all the amazing charities and volunteer opportunities available in our Capital Region. Most of these organizations rely primarily on volunteers- so the more help we can provide, the more impact they can have on those in need in our community. We are very grateful that we were able to allocate our resources in order to dedicate a full week of time to these amazing organizations and give back to our neighbors in need.
