Northeast Kidney Foundation Raises $54,431 During Catwalk For Kidneys Fashion Show

The Northeast Kidney Foundation held its annual Catwalk For Kidneys Fashion Show on Sunday, November 8, raising $54,431 to help the fight against kidney disease, surpassing the Foundation’s initial fundraising goal of $50,000.

The event highlights kidney disease and organ donation, and raises funds to support those right here in the community living with kidney disease.

This year was the 10th anniversary of Catwalk For Kidneys and the first year the event was virtual. The livestream Facebook event featured fashions provided by Macy’s and an online auction with items donated from local businesses. The online auction stays open until Friday, November 13th and can be accessed through http://healthykidneys.org.

Fashion models ranged from local celebrities, healthcare professionals, kidney and transplant patients, donor families and living donors. Each model sported three distinct looks as Northeast Kidney Foundation Executive Director Carol LaFleur and local comedian Greg Aidala hosted the show.

“Although this year’s event looked different, we still had the same goal in mind and that was to raise as much money as possible,” said LaFleur. “We could not have done this without all of our models who set personal fundraising goals and all of our community partners.”

The livestream accumulated over 800 views and 100 comments. You can watch the recorded livestream here.

Additionally, a new Catwalk For Kidneys logo was unveiled thanks to the work of graphic design company Feisty Brown. The logo will be used starting next year.

Feisty Brown was launched in 2017 by Julie and Theo Fels of Kinderhook, New York. Julie and Theo have over 30 years of experience working with recognizable American and global organizations such as American Express, Capital One and Johnson & Johnson.
