Nominate a Volunteer

As a Not-For-Profit, you couldn’t exist without the volunteers who help you carry out your mission. Here’s your chance to let someone special know how much you appreciate all they do for you.

The American Institute for Public Service was created in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, U.S. Senator Robert Taft Jr. and Sam Beard. This public foundation established the Jefferson Awards, a Nobel Prize for Community and Public Service.

The Jefferson Awards are presented locally by The Times Union, WNYT-TV and St. Peter’s Health Partners. The finalists will be recognized at a dinner reception at The Century House on April 19, 2018.

One of our honorees will be designated to represent the Capital District at the National Awards in Washington, D.C., in June of 2018. If you have an extraordinary person that you would like to nominate, go to:

Deadline for nominations is 3 p.m. on February 27, 2018.
