Nearly $5,500 Raised for Food Pantries Through BSNB Food Drive and Donation Match

Ballston Spa National Bank (BSNB), recently partnered with bank customers to provide assistance to area food pantries. Along with the food collected during the bank’s eighth annual food drive, customers gave nearly $2,250 in monetary donations and in response, BSNB matched  $3,200. The combined total of nearly $5,500 benefits 14 organizations located across the region.

The food pantries benefitting from the bank’s efforts include: Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council – Ballston Spa, City Mission of Schenectady – Schenectady, First Baptist Church Christ’s Cupboard – Ballston Spa, Living Hope Christian Church – Ballston Lake, United Methodist Church – Ballston Spa, Greater Galway Community Services Association – Galway, Christ Episcopal Church – Ballston Spa, United Methodist Church – Jonesville, Stillwater United Church – Stillwater, CAPTAIN Food Pantry – Clifton Park, Wilton Food Pantry – Wilton, Greenfield Food Pantry – Greenfield Center, Guilderland Food Pantry – Guilderland, and New Scotland Community Food Pantry – Voorheesville..

Funds for 12 of the food pantries were recently delivered by BSNB staff members to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. By partnering with the Regional Food Bank, these member agencies are able to receive approximately $10 worth of food for every $1 donated. Organizations not partnering with the Regional Food Bank received their funds directly. Collected food items were delivered to designated food pantries.
