NBT Bank Expands Capital Region Presence with New Regional Headquarters in Downtown Albany

NBT Bank marked an important milestone in its ongoing investment in the Capital Region with a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new Eastern New York Regional Headquarters at 677 Broadway in downtown Albany. Capital Region Chamber President and CEO Mark Eagan was among the local leaders and elected officials in attendance to commemorate this significant occasion.

The event highlighted the completion of 15,000 square feet of newly renovated Class A office space on the building’s fifth floor. This state-of-the-art space serves as a central hub for NBT’s regional team and reflects the bank’s continued growth and long-term commitment to downtown Albany and the surrounding communities.

NBT Bank has been a trusted financial partner in the Capital Region since 2000, currently operating 26 branches across Albany, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schoharie, and Warren counties. With more than 300 team members based in the area, the new headquarters provides a dynamic environment to support operations and strengthen customer service across the bank’s seven-state footprint.

The investment at 677 Broadway is part of NBT’s broader efforts to enhance its regional presence. The bank recently renovated its nearby branch at 54 State Street and continues to operate its updated Capital Region Financial Center at 80 Wolf Road. This facility offers a full-service branch, ATM access, and office space for employees across various departments and divisions.

“NBT Bank has served the Capital Region for 25 years. As the fourth largest bank in the region with over 300 team members based here, we needed office space to reflect our growing presence,” said Al Testa, who oversees NBT operations in Eastern New York and Connecticut, and serves as regional president for the Capital Region. “Serving as a central hub for our regional team and our customers, our new offices at 677 Broadway reinforce our long-term commitment to the Capital Region and support our growth across NBT’s seven-state footprint.”

“The decision by NBT Bank to establish its new regional headquarters in downtown Albany is a tremendous vote of confidence in the strength and future of Albany and the Capital Region. This investment brings jobs and economic energy to the heart of our community,” said Mark Eagan, president and CEO of the Capital Region Chamber and the Center for Economic Growth. He continued, “Our deep appreciation to NBT, their commitment to businesses throughout our region has fueled investment, job creation, and prosperity.”

As part of the celebration, NBT Bank presented a $5,000 contribution to Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region. This gift supports Trinity Alliance’s mission to promote healthy families and vibrant neighborhoods by addressing housing insecurity and encouraging homeownership throughout the community.

NBT Bank’s continued investment in downtown Albany reflects a strong commitment to driving economic growth, supporting local businesses, and creating opportunities for individuals and families across the Capital Region.
