MVP Health Care Ranks in Best Places to Work

MVP Health Care today announced that it was honored as the 24th best company to work for by the New York State Society of Human Resources Managers and the Best Companies Group. This is the second year in a row that MVP Health care has been named to this list among large employers in New York State.

“MVP Health Care has always placed a strong emphasis on our workplace culture because we know that our employees are the foundation of success for our company,” said Denise Gonick, MVP’s chief executive officer and director. “Making health care more personal for our members starts with our employees’ ability to work and thrive in a positive and supportive atmosphere, and we are proud that this award reflects that commitment.”

The statewide awards program, which is presented by New York State Society for Human Resources Managers (SHRM) and the Best Companies Group, is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in New York, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce, and businesses. Eligible organizations participated in an evaluation of their workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The evaluation also involved an employee survey that measured the employee experience.

MVP Health Care employees enjoy a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:

  • Medical, dental and vision coverage
  • Company matched 401(k) plan
  • Tuition assistance
  • 529 College Savings Program
  • On-site fitness facilities with fitness classes, walking groups, biometric screenings and flu shot clinics
  • An employee well-being program
  • Discounts for gym memberships, weight management, and more
  • An on-site success coach
  • On-site fresh produce deliveries from local farms
  • And much more!

All MVP employees also receive a paid day off each year during which they can form their own volunteer teams to help in the community on company time. Employees also participate in walks, runs, and bike rides that benefit a wide variety of not-for-profit organizations. MVP supports nearly 400 organizations and volunteers with more than 4,600 hours in the communities it serves.

“The beating heart of MVP is our wide range of employees from a diverse set of professional backgrounds, skillsets and cultures who together make health insurance better for our members,” said Lynn Manning, senior leader of people and talent. “We are honored to receive this award on behalf of our 1,700 employees across New York and Vermont and we will continue to foster a workplace that is built upon inclusion, diversity, and personal growth.”

Some of the areas evaluated by SHRM and the Best Companies Group relate to leadership and planning, corporate culture and communications, role satisfaction, work environment, relationships with supervisors, training and development, pay and benefits, and overall engagement.
