MVP Health Care Promotes Michael Della Villa to CIO

MVP Health Care has promoted Michael Della Villa to chief information officer responsible for leading all aspects of Information Technology for the organization. His areas of responsibility include guiding IT vision and strategy, architecture and planning, technology infrastructure and production system operations, application analysis and solution development, information management, and IT customer service. He works closely with MVP’s business leaders to align IT activities with business objectives and to ensure efficient, cost-effective operations that deliver business value.

Previously, as MVP’s vice president of IT Innovation & Strategy, Della Villa led the development of a strategy and long-term roadmap for IT. He oversaw data governance and was responsible for enterprise project portfolio management. Combining his leadership skills, project delivery, and operations experience, he has aligned IT with MVP’s business strategy, while helping to reduce costs and enhance services.

“Michael has played a central role in improving the efficiency of our IT group, while providing better service and solutions for our members,” said Denise Gonick, MVP Health Care president and CEO. “He is extremely well suited to lead MVP’s information technology efforts.”

An executive with more than 30 years of experience in information technology, Della Villa was managing partner at Arista Strategy Group prior to joining MVP, and prior to that the owner of his own IT consulting organization which specialized in strategic planning and process improvement. He was a senior director at Newbold Advisors, the chief operating officer at Rockit Science Solutions, and the chief information and operations officer at nfrastructure technologies.

A graduate of Siena College, Della Villa has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science. He lives in Rotterdam.
