MVP Health Care Names Patrick Roohan Vice President of Data Management and Analytics Solutions

MVP Health Care announces the appointment of Patrick (Pat) Roohan as vice president of data management and analytics solutions. In this role, Roohan will be responsible for enterprise data management activities to support MVP’s growing analytics capabilities and solutions.

Roohan joins MVP from the New York State Department of Health (DOH) where he had a 30-year career leading quality, patient safety, health information technology, and data system initiatives. Most recently, he served as deputy commissioner of health for the Office of Quality and Patient Safety, leading quality and evaluation of the Medicaid program and championing health information technology advances for the SHIN-NY (Statewide Health Information of New York), the All Payer Database, and OPEN.DATA.NY, New York’s open data portal.

“Pat’s wealth of experience in enterprise data management with the State of New York will be integral to MVP as we continue to build and implement analytic solutions,” said Cathy Clancy, MVP’s executive vice president of Medicaid and MVP operations. “These tools help us not only support the health of our members, but also empower our provider and employer partners to make the best decisions possible, helping to optimize care.”

Roohan began his career as a research scientist and is an alumnus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), where he received a master’s degree in operations research and statistics, as well as in management engineering. He has been published in the areas of health services research, quality of care, and evaluation.

Roohan lives in Saratoga Springs.
