July 1, 2025Mike Palahnuk Memorial Pavilion Dedication Ribbon Cutting
The Schenectady Jewish Community Center (SJCC) proudly unveiled the Mike Palahnuk Memorial Pavilion—named in honor of their beloved former facilities director who recently passed away from cancer. This new pavilion offers a shaded, all-weather space ideal for camp activities, family gatherings, and community programs.
Thanks to the generous support of the community and a matching grant from the JCamp 180 program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, this beautiful addition is now a permanent part of the SJCC campus.
The dedication was joined by Mark Eagan, CEO & President of the Capital Region Chamber, David Posner, CEO of JCCs of the Capital Region, Ilene Friedman, JCC Board of Directors Vice President and Chair of Pavilion Fundraising Committee, Andy Katz, Campus Director of the Schenectady JCC, and Kevin Martone, Senior Program Manager of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.
