July 20, 2023Messiah Lutheran Church Ribbon Cutting
It was a special moment at the ribbon cutting for improvements at Messiah Lutheran Church (2850 Guilderland Ave, Rotterdam) when Assemblyman Santabarbara’s son Michael gave the official citation to Rev. Dustin Longmire. Rev. Longmire and his congregation really demonstrated the meaning of community and what an all-inclusive faith family means. Everyone is welcome to worship and serve the Lord at this church. Speakers included Congressman Paul D. Tonko, Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, chairman of the Schenectady County Legislature Tony Jurczynski and team members who put the event together. Also present was Town of Rotterdam Supervisor Mollie Collins. The opening blessing and prayer was given by Rev. Peter Cook, Executive Director of the New York State Council of Churches.
