February 4, 2026Member Spotlight: The Brothers that just do Gutters
The Brothers that just do Gutters was originally founded in 1999 by brothers Ken and Ryan Parsons in Poughkeepsie, New York. The Capital District location was established in June 2021 by U.S. Army Veteran Patrick Neill and is now approaching its five-year anniversary. This locally owned operation proudly serves communities throughout the Capital Region, extending north to Lake George.
As a business, The Brothers that just do Gutters focuses on one thing and does it exceptionally well: gutters and gutter-related services. From routine cleanings to full system installations, the team works with aluminum, galvalume, and copper materials, always following best building practices and delivering a high standard of customer service. Seasonal challenges are also a specialty. Winter services include heated gutter systems, snow guards, and ice dam removal—solutions designed to protect homes year-round in Upstate New York’s demanding climate. While the business operates locally, it’s backed by the systems and support of a national brand.
Looking ahead, growth is firmly on the horizon for the company. Plans are underway to open a new location in Queensbury by the end of next year, with an additional expansion into Gloversville targeted for 2027. The company is also expanding winter services, particularly ice dam removal, while continuing to promote heated gutters as a proactive, preventative solution for homeowners.
One interesting fact many people don’t realize is just how deeply involved the business is in the community. In 2025, the Capital District location launched its Gutters for Good program, providing free gutter installations to veterans in need. The company also supports local schools through sponsorships and partners with shelters to create pathways to employment. In 2022 alone, seven individuals were hired from the City Mission Shelter in Schenectady—five of whom were able to transition out of the shelter that same year. The business also actively supports local veteran organizations through partnerships with media outlets such as the Times Union.
An especially fun and memorable aspect of the business is one of its most recognizable representatives—who isn’t technically on payroll. Patrick’s son is a familiar face at home shows, enthusiastically spinning the Brothers Gutters sign and even trying to convince competitors to buy gutters from them. It’s a lighthearted reminder that this is truly a family-driven business.
What sets The Brothers that just do Gutters apart from competitors is their willingness to take on the jobs others avoid. From complex gutter layouts and half-round systems to projects involving wood rot and specialty work, the team trains specifically for challenging installations. That same mindset keeps them working year-round—even in winter—when many competitors shut down. While others head south, this team is often fixing or improving work left behind.
Being a member of the Chamber has been a meaningful and impactful experience for the company. The support, relationships, and shared commitment to community growth closely align with its values. Chamber membership has provided opportunities not just to grow the business, but to grow as leaders and neighbors in the Capital Region.
As an active Chamber member doing business in the Capital Region, the company has taken advantage of a wide range of resources. From networking and referral groups to mentorship programs, executive dialogue, and professional training, these offerings have helped forge strong relationships with local leaders and partners—connections that continue to support both business growth and community impact.
After 13 years of military service, transitioning back to civilian life was one of the most challenging chapters for Patrick and his family. The Capital Region’s strong veteran support network made that transition possible. Today, that experience fuels the company’s mission: serving those who served and giving back to the community—one gutter at a time.
While online reviews are always appreciated, some of the most meaningful customer feedback arrives the old-fashioned way—handwritten letters mailed directly to the office. Hearing customers recognize the entire team or share how the work prevented costly home damage is a powerful reminder of why the work matters.
