October 10, 2019Member Spotlight: MINOR Improvements PT
MINOR Improvements PT was started in 2002 to provide medically based PT services to children whose needs were not adequately met in schools or adult outpatient settings. We treated patients for 13 years in Saratoga Springs and relocated to 901 Maritime Drive in Alplaus in 2016.
We have treated patients as young as one week old. We also collaborate with medical staff at Boston Children’s Hospital, Johns Hopkins and St. Jude’s Hospital in addition to local pediatric practitioners.
All children receive 1:1 treatment by a licensed pediatric physical therapist. In addition to “typical” childhood PT needs, we are known for our expertise in evaluation and treatment of children with rare and complex medical disorders, children being treated for cancer, child-specific orthopedic issues, and early identification of infants with cerebral palsy.
We are dedicated to providing the most current evidence-informed treatments. We prioritize our professional development through our association with the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine and the American Physical Therapy Association. This gives us access to the latest research and leading experts in pediatric development and rehabilitation.
As new members of the Chamber, we are excited to be a part of a group that covers such a large geographic area. We feel this is a great opportunity to reach more communities across multiple counties. Increasing awareness of our services will allow us to provide care for more children throughout the Capital Region. We are still learning about all the Chamber has to offer and look forward to building local relationships.
The Capital Region has incredible potential for team work among pediatric health and wellness professionals who are dedicated to providing services to children. There are several health and wellness collaboratives in the Capital Region that serve adults, but we are not aware of any that exclusively serve the pediatric population. With many medical professionals working in separate hospital systems, the opportunities to work together are more valuable than ever! We welcome a variety of pediatric experts to gather under one roof in our 10,000 square foot building overlooking the Mohawk River.
