Matchless Stove & Chimney Ribbon Cutting

Matchless Stove & Chimney opened their third regional store at 300 Columbia Turnpike in East Greenbush.  Founder Tim Madden and wife Wanda joined their son Jeremiah, the current owner, and the rest of the family to celebrate this latest milestone for a business founded in the early 1980s that now includes members of the third generation of the family!  Their first store was down in Glenmont, but readers in the 12065 and surrounding ZIP codes will recognize their Halfmoon store at 1581 Route 9.  Many southern Saratoga County households keep warm in winter thanks to their store right here in our community.   Yet Tim started out cleaning chimneys in Albany County, building the business over the subsequent decades.  Today, Matchless Stove and Chimney prides themselves in family oriented, comprehensive sales and service for wood, gas, and electric stoves, and they have technicians on staff who can service nearly every make and model.  They take extra care to make each in-store display simulate the warmth and atmosphere of the home, and it’s hard not to feel very cozy during a visit!

Chamber’s Pete Bardunias emceed the ribbon cutting event, joined by Assemblymember John McDonald and Meaghan Rossbach representing Senator Jake Ashby. Representatives from Steve McLaughlin – Rensselaer County Executive’s office also delivered a congratulatory plaque to commemorate the happy occasion. Our elected officials are great partners who always help make these events special.

All 2023 ribbon cuttings of the Capital Region Chamber and its affiliates are sponsored by the Saratoga National Bank & Trust Company.
