Marshall & Sterling Insurance Names Three New Senior Vice Presidents

Marshall & Sterling Insurance announced the elevation of three of the agency’s leaders to the position of Senior Vice President: Jeanne Maloy from the Scotia, NY office; Greg Townsend from the Middletown, NY office, and; Ken Grey from the Leeds, NY office.

In 1980 Jeanne Maloy received a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and in Marketing with a minor in Economics from the State University of New York at Plattsburg. She started her career with Ter Bush and Powell in 1980 in Life & Benefits Accounting. Through an acquisition by Jardines Insurance Brokers Inc. she held positions as a staff accountant & Budgeting Coordinator and in 1985 was promoted to Assistant Controller. Marshall & Sterling acquired Jardines in 1994. In 2002 she was promoted to Office Manager and in 2005 made Operations Manager of the Glenville, Syracuse, Hoosick Falls and Utica operations as well as overseeing the financial department for Marshall & Sterling Upstate Inc. Jeanne was elected as a Director to the Marshall & Sterling Enterprises Board of Directors in 2018.

Greg Townsend joined Marshall & Sterling in 1979 as an Account Executive and quickly became a leading producer for our agency. He has also held public office as an Orange County Legislator, and has been involved in countless civic, public service and nonprofit organizations throughout his career. Greg was appointed Vice President and Branch Manager of our Middletown office in 2009, and also took over leadership of our Monticello office in 2014. He was appointed a Director in 2016. He has served as the County Legislator for the 7th Legislative District, and as Chairman of the Public Safety & Emergency Services Committee. He also served on the Personnel & Compensation Commission, Human Services and Education & Economic Development Committee, Health and Mental Health Commission, Southeast Orange Traffic Committee. Greg was elected as a Director to the Marshall & Sterling Enterprises Board of Directors in 2017.

Ken began his insurance career in 1978 with St. Paul Companies as a Commercial Lines Underwriter. He held various positions throughout his tenure, including Property/Inland Marine Underwriter, Production Underwriter and Marketing and Marketing Manager. He received his B.A. in Political Science from Allegheny College and his MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1988. Ken has received designations for Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM). Ken is an adjunct instructor to the School of Business at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY.
