Maple Ski Ridge Announces Partnership with Best Fitness for 2016 “Run the Ridge” Event

Maple Ski Ridge is partnering up with Best Fitness to bring the Northeast an enhanced 2016 “Run The Ridge” 5K mud, trail and obstacle course. The event, designed by military runners and Maple Ski Ridge staff members, is for all levels from serious athletes to families who want to experience a great time together.

“We are very excited to work with Best Fitness this year to provide enthusiasts an experience that will be challenging, memorable and fun for all. The highlights include the races and many activities during that day. There is truly something for everyone,” said Karen Doyle general manager of Maple Ski Ridge.

The event raises money for “Veterans Count”, which is a program of Easter Seals. A portion of all proceeds will support veterans through this cause.

Each year challenges are added and re-designed to offer every participant a new experience regardless of any other races they have completed in the past. There will be plenty of mud, water, ledges, tires, hills, fire and additional objects to climb over, under and get covered in.

“We are thrilled to be a partner this year to bring fitness fans and families a day of excitement. Leading up to the race we are happy to work with anyone, who plans to participate, on skills that will be helpful in completing the course. While there is no pressure, it could be fun to set a few goals,” said Craig Boyarsky who is the fitness director at Best Fitness.

For the main obstacle event there are three waves at 8:45 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. The Easter Seals Compassion Walk is held at 12 noon. The Family Fun Run will start at 1 p.m.

The day is perfect for all ages as it includes plenty of activities for children plus food and drink for socializing and sharing experiences. The cost is $55.00 until midnight on July 8 and $65.00 on the day of the race. Participants will receive souvenir dog tags, water and banana at the finish line, free parking, free key check and of course bragging rights and great stories! The first 200 to register will also receive a Run The Ridge t-shirt, draw-string bag, fandana (a relative of the bandana) and sticker.
