Deily & Glastetter, LLP is delighted to announce that former Director of Operations, Lois Smith-Law, is being awarded the first ever Capital District Women’s Employment & Resource Center (WERC) Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is reserved for an extraordinary woman who has lived her life with passion, set goals with a mission to help others and who has realized her accomplishments. As described by WERC:
“The nominee will have completed outstanding deeds. She must demonstrate strength, courage and conviction. Her personal and professional journey will be highlighted by successive milestones that impact the lives of women.
To receive this award, the nominee must live the mission of WERC – advancing women’s success in the workplace by building their economic success and personal independence. More than that, the actions and words of her every-day life must result in changed lives, enriched families and show benefits in our community.
To be considered for this award, the nominee must also demonstrate a deep commitment to WERC. This commitment will be seen through the ways in which she interacts with the organization, its students and graduates.”

Lois joined Deily & Glastetter in 2007. As the Director of Operations, Lois was responsible for all aspects of human resource planning, recruiting, staff development, retention and compliance with state and federal labor regulations. Additionally, Lois planned, developed and implemented the Firm’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities. She was charged with building brand awareness through advertising, networking activity, sponsorships and community service. Lois coordinated all marketing activities at the strategic and tactical levels for all the business units of the Firm. Most of all, Lois was a mentor to us all. Prior to joining the firm, Lois had many successful years of Organizational Leadership, Business Management, Human Resources, Marketing and Business Development experience in the private, public, not-for-profit and academic sectors. Lois passed away in April, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy and spirit live on in the countless lives she touched.
