Local Non-Profit For Individuals At The End Of Life Celebrates 15 Years Of Operation!

Schenectady Community Home, Inc. dba Joan Nicole Prince Home has officially entered its 15th year of operation! The celebrate this accomplishment, Executive Director, Amanda Neveu,  has published a book detailing the history of the non-profit along with moving stories from staff, volunteers, and families.

Since opening to their first resident on June 19, 2006, the JNP Home has served over 225 residents most in need at the end of life in the Capital Region. The Joan Nicole Prince Home provides a safe, comfortable, caring residence to terminally ill patients in need of a home during their final days and is run 100% on community donations.

The major goal of the book, “Living with the Dying: The Journey of a Comfort Home” is to raise awareness about the non-profit comfort home, the dying person’s bill of rights & the need for individuals at the end of life to be treated as a human being, with comfort, respect, & dignity.

All proceeds from book distribution go directly to the Joan Nicole Prince Home. All fundraising efforts support the JNP Home’s ongoing end of life care to the terminally ill, support to their family members and friends, and provide educational programs with partner organizations, teaching future healthcare professionals, and community members compassionate end of life care.
