Local and National Talent in the Spotlight at the #518gives Fundraiser

Talented performers will shine at the #518gives Fundraiser for the Center for Disability Services on Sunday, January 27, live from the Red Lion Hotel, 205 Wolf Road, and broadcast on WXXA/FOX23 from noon to 7 p.m.

Featured local talent includes crooner Joe Kriss, who will kick off the show with “New York, New York,” the Schenectady City Chorus,  the Farrell School of Dance, Guilderland High School Choir, the Stockbridge Band, singer Michael Razzano,  the Center Choir, a singing group comprised of the Center’s adult program participants performing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow;”duo Kyle and Cody Chamberlain who are twins and who both work as school music teachers, singer Aaron Miller, EJ Ray Acoustic, young vocalist Kelsey Dodd, the Onyx Dance team, a cappella group Capital Harmony, Donald “The Soul Man” Hyman, Harold Hicks, an adult program participant from the Center who will perform with Hyman and fulfill a personal dream, and singer Carmen Lookshire.

Country and pop singer Billy Gilman, a veteran of “The Voice” talent competition and runner up on season 11, will perform twice during the live broadcast. A Rhode Island native, Gilman became a  young sensation after releasing his first album, “One Voice,” in 2000, and receiving a Grammy nomination. In 2001, he won Favorite Country New Artist at the American Music Awards. Gilman has since released five more albums and continues to perform and do charitable work.

The talent performance area will be hosted by Sean McMaster & Meredith McNeil from B95.5, Carli O’Hara & Chad O’Hara from B95.5, Scott Pank and Billy the Kid from Jamz 96.3, Pete Kelly from 100.9 The Cat and Christy Whitaker from FLY 92.3, and Mike Ryan from 107.1 The Point. FOX23 News 10abc hosts are Christina Arangio, Jess Briganti, Nicol Lally and Ryan Peterson and later in the day, Trishna Begam, John Gray, Lydia Kulbida and Tim Lake.

Stop by, tune in and donate to improve tomorrow and have a positive impact today on the lives of people with disabilities and their families. Every dollar donated stays in the Capital Region and Saratoga/Lake George area to support the Center and its divisions, Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center, Life Quality Solutions Incubator, Prospect Center in Queensbury and St. Margaret’s Center in Albany.
