Liz Rogan Tabbed MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

Siena Women’s Soccer senior goalkeeper Liz Rogan has been named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week. The local product from nearby Wilton, N.Y. captures her second weekly honor this fall, after previously being tabbed both the MAAC and ECAC Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 31.

Rogan led the Saints to a 1-1 draw with perennial MAAC power Fairfield Wednesday and a 1-0 shutout victory at Iona Saturday. On Wednesday, she made a career-high 10 saves as Siena rallied to record the tie and tally their first point against the Stags since 2010. On Saturday, Rogan notched her fifth individual clean sheet of the season, making three saves in a key conference road triumph over the Gaels.

On the season, Rogan currently ranks third in the MAAC in save percentage (.778) and fourth in goals against average (1.11), saves (63) and shutouts (five). She has started all 16 matches between the pipes this fall, playing all but 45 minutes while recording a 7-6-3 record.

Rogan and the Saints return to action Wednesday for their regular season home finale at Siena Field against MAAC rival Marist at 3 p.m.
