Library Board Appoints Halfmoon Trustee

The Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Schlegel to fill a vacancy on its 11-member board. This appointment is effective as of June 16 through the end of the year. The open seat was created by the recent resignation of a sitting trustee representing the Town of Halfmoon.

In accordance with its bylaws, the board considered a number of candidates to fill the position for the remainder of 2025. Ms. Schlegel brings experience in budgeting, long range planning, and project management to the board, and shares an understanding of library priorities and board responsibilities.

There will be four trustee positions on the ballot at this year’s Budget Vote & Trustee Election: two representing Clifton Park for a five-year term; one representing Clifton Park for the four-year remainder of a term; and one from Halfmoon for the one-year remainder of a term. Interested candidates can pick up a board packet at the Library or print one from our website. Petitions are due by 5 pm on August 12.

The Library Board consists of 11 trustees; seven representing Clifton Park and four representing Halfmoon. Trustees attend monthly board meetings, serve on assigned committees, and contribute their expertise to benefit the Library and the served community.
