Law Firm Expands Policy Reach with WOH-Health & Human Services

Albany’s largest law firm, Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP, is pleased to announce WOH – Health & Human Services (WOH-HHS) a new division within WOH Government Solutions LLC. WOH-HHS is a health and human services consulting and lobbying division with a focus on patient-centric policy. Lisa Wickens-Alteri will serve as the President and Jacqueline Pappalardi as Vice President of WOH – Health & Human Services.

WOH-HHS was envisioned to develop a team of clinical and legal experts to develop practical and innovative solutions for the growing health and human services industry. The policy shift towards patient population management and health care integration has created many opportunities, accompanied with operational and regulatory challenges.  WOH-HHS serves a variety of clients including but not limited to hospitals, nursing homes, home care agencies, pharmaceutical companies, substance use providers, grassroots advocacy, credentialing organizations, insurers/payers, community-based organizations, and providers serving individuals with developmental disabilities.

WickensMs. Wickens-Alteri joined WOH Government Solutions in 2013 to develop the division, WOH – Health & Human Services with the intent to design a team capable of identifying solutions to healthcare delivery to meet patient needs through policy and legislation. She previously worked for 26 years in the public and private health care sector, the former at both the State and county levels. As a Registered Professional Nurse, she is continuously committed to improving access to quality health and human services for all.  Lisa’s experience has made her a results-orientated leader devoted to the development of health policies, practices, programs and facilities that better serve the people of New York.

PappalardiMs. Pappalardi joined HHS as the Vice President in 2015 to add clinical and policy expertise to the HHS team. Jackie has extensive public and private sector healthcare experience including acute and long-term care. She most recently served as the Director of the Division of Nursing Home-Intermediate Care Facilities Quality and Surveillance at the New York State Department of Health and is formerly the Director of Patient Safety, Education, and Preparedness at an academic hospital. As a Clinical Partner, Jackie shares the vision of HHS and is a strong advocate for improving outcomes throughout healthcare systems.

ScottAnoush Koroghlian-Scott joined Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP in December 2015 with 23 years of experience in health law. Ms. Koroghlian-Scott brings in-depth legal expertise and operational insight to the HHS team.  Formerly the Vice President and General Counsel of a large community hospital, her experience includes healthcare governance, physician practices, risk management, and compliance (including Stark, anti-kickback, and regulatory issues). Additionally, she has served as outside general counsel to hospitals, long-term care facilities, and healthcare associations.  She offers her clients counsel regarding advance directives, end-of-life decision-making, behavioral health, guardianship, risk management, medical staff bylaws, credentialing, HIPAA, and survey preparedness. Ms. Koroghlian-Scott shares the vision of the HHS team to ensure patient access to quality healthcare.
