The Chamber was present for the ceremonial ribbon cutting on Friday, December 6 for Laviano Wine & Liquor. Ambassadors, local dignitaries, family and friends were all on hand to help celebrate the expansion of their store and new name.
Chris decided to open a retail wine and liquor store because he’s always been passionate about wine and wanted to become involved in the wine and liquor industry. He enjoys expanding his knowledge when it comes to new wines and liquors and wanted to share good quality products with customers. A huge focus has been on New York State wineries and distilleries. Being from NY, he likes to support other local businesses and carry their products so they can reach more consumers through his store.
He chose this type of business because he wanted to add a warehouse style liquor store with great pricing along with higher end selections to the town of Guilderland. The store offers tastings every weekend, allowing customers to sample new wines and liquors. The store is a dog-friendly establishment so customers are always welcome to bring their pets with them while shopping.
Chris has always been an entrepreneur and wanted to run his own businesses that he’s passionate about. At the age of 24, he became a Licensed Real Estate Broker and opened his own real estate company called Laviano & Associates Real Estate Group. It is actually just a few doors down for the liquor store. When Chris opened Laviano Wine & Liquor he became one of the youngest licensed liquor store owners at the age of 26. He is a hands on owner and makes sure he visits the store once a day.
The location for Laviano Wine & Liquor is located on the westbound side of Western Avenue, which is convenient for most customers on their way home from work. His store is the only liquor store on this side of Western Avenue and is easy to access when entering and exiting the parking lot back onto Western Avenue. Laviano Wine & Liquor is more than just a standard retail liquor store, they offer same day delivery services, online shopping through our website with shipping options available and offer discounts to military personnel, veterans, police officers, first responders and realtors.
