September 4, 2018Kingsway Arms Nursing Center Celebrates and Honors 11 Centenarians
It may be hard to imagine being born in the early 1900’s and experiencing first hand the end of World War I, living through the Great Depression and World War II then the Korean Conflict as well as all the other historical events of daily American life. But eleven residents of Kingsway Arms Nursing Center have done just that. All eleven are at least 100 years old. In fact, six of them range from 102 up to age 107!
When asked how they feel about reaching such a milestone, some of their comments were:
“I have always been a happy kind of person.”
“I love people.” “I always worked and was active. I’m fortunate that I have always enjoyed my life.”
“My family and traveling have kept me going. And I enjoy watching baseball on TV.”
“Kingsway is honored to have these centenarians living here with us,” explained Mark Olsen, Administrator of Kingsway Arms Nursing Center. “These residents are able to share a unique perspective of history that is irreplaceable. Our staff love to listen to their stories as much as these residents love to share them.”
