October 26, 2023King Cork Wine & Liquor Ribbon Cutting
King Cork Wine & Liquor (2430 Watt St, Schenectady) was founded in 1965 by the late Eugene Pacelli, and his son Tom took over along with wife Elissa in 1999. The Pacellis decided to retire in April this year, so new owners Chintan and Suhani Parikh have brought some fantastic updates to the store, such as an expanded inventory, exciting weekly tasting events, a customer loyalty program, and special senior discounts every Wednesday. Door Dash and GrubHub is now available. UberEats will be available very soon!
Chintan credits his father’s hard work, dedication, and passion towards his business for inspiring him to take the plunge into entrepreneurship. His Dad was a visionary, a very sharp businessman, charming, eloquent and had an extremely positive attitude towards life. Chintan and Suhani hope to continue King Cork’s legacy of being a community store and do our part in supporting our local community. Suhani also comes from a local family of business owners who have been very supportive in this venture. Chintan credits his father in law, Sunil Modasra, who was the mastermind behind all the renovations and upgrades in the store.
If you’re ever looking for a particular wine or spirit that they don’t have or that you can’t find in the area, just let they know while you’re shopping or give them a call! They have already helped a number of customers order specific items and can likely find what you’re looking for!
Joining the Chamber for the ribbon cutting were Mia Comenzo representing Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara and Rayan Aguam on behalf of Senator Jim Tedisco. My staff colleague Robin Martin was there along with volunteer Ambassadors Ron Mason, and Steve Weaver from Aprojects USA, LLC.
All 2023 ribbon cuttings of the Capital Region Chamber and its affiliates are sponsored by the Saratoga National Bank & Trust Company.
