Kee to Independent Growth Inc. Celebrates Expansion of New Clifton Park Facility

Kee to Independent Growth Inc. (KIGI) recently marked the expansion of its newest facility with a ribbon cutting at 1673 Route 9. This milestone represents the organization’s fourth location, further expanding access to critical, community-based services. The new facility will support individuals living with traumatic brain injuries, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia—advancing KIGI’s mission to provide compassionate care and promote independence across the region.

The Capital Region Chamber joined community leaders, elected officials, and families on April 2 in the celebration highlighting KIGI’s mission-driven growth under the leadership of Executive Director Karen Le Que. Founded from Le Que’s deeply personal experience caring for family members affected by TBI, KIGI was created to address a significant and longstanding gap in specialized care.

Speaking at the event, Le Que emphasized the importance of the organization’s New Journeys Day Program, noting, “The respite that it offers for families to come here and know that their family member is safe is beyond measure… it really allows for them to use their cognitive abilities.”

Elected officials from across local, state, and federal government praised KIGI’s impact and compassion. Congressman Paul Tonko commended the dedication of the organization’s team, stating, “I thank you not only for your professionalism and your skill and talent, but for your heart. It takes that special ingredient to serve a population that is so high demand.”

Senator Jim Tedisco, drawing from his own family experience, thanked KIGI for empowering individuals and removing barriers, saying, “You do that every single day… to remove those obstacles or give them the ability to overcome them to be everything they could be.”

Local leaders also reflected on KIGI’s continued growth. Town of Halfmoon Supervisor Kevin Tollisen called the new facility “a testament to the tremendous programming that you have here.”

Town of Clifton Park Supervisor Phil Barrett underscored the broader community impact, noting, “You’re as much a driver of our economy here as any other organization, because more and more people are looking for quality services close to home.”

Amy Madden representing Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh’s office, also highlighted the importance of the facility for families seeking trusted care, sharing, “It’s so neat to see that we can refer them to such capable hands.”

The opening of KIGI’s Clifton Park facility brings new jobs and expanded human services capacity to Saratoga County, while reinforcing the organization’s role as a trusted resource for veterans, seniors, and families navigating life-altering conditions. The Capital Region Chamber congratulates Kee to Independent Growth Inc. on this meaningful milestone and looks forward to their continued growth and community impact.
